The prestigious event, attended by world leaders including His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, celebrated innovative solutions for sustainable development.
Nafarm Foods, a Nigerian SME, emerged victorious in the Food Category of the Zayed Sustainability Prize. The company was recognized for its innovative scalable hybrid solar food dryers designed to preserve food and significantly reduce CO2 emissions. This groundbreaking technology offers sustainable food preservation solutions, addressing food waste and environmental concerns.
Additionally, D-Olivette Global Enterprise, another Nigerian SME, was a finalist in the Energy Category. The enterprise was honored for its Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted waste management system, which enhances waste collection efficiency by 40%. Their solution demonstrates Nigeria’s growing expertise in leveraging technology for sustainable energy and environmental solutions.
President Tinubu praised both Nafarm Foods and D-Olivette Global Enterprise for their achievements, stating, “I congratulate both SMEs for doing Nigeria proud.”
