In a renewed escalation of hostilities, the Russian military launched a large-scale assault on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure on Thursday night, targeting key facilities across multiple regions.
Ukrainian authorities reported that the attack struck areas in Odesa, Poltava, Chernihiv, and Ternopil, disrupting essential services and causing widespread damage.According to Ukrainian officials, Russia deployed nearly 70 missiles, including cruise and ballistic projectiles, alongside almost 200 attack drones in the offensive.

However, civilian areas were also affected, with residential buildings suffering damage. In Kharkiv, a Russian missile landed dangerously close to an apartment complex, injuring several people. Emergency responders and medical teams were quickly deployed to provide necessary assistance to the victims. Additionally, Zelensky commended the performance of Ukraine’s anti-aircraft missile units, army aviation, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire squads for their coordinated efforts in countering the assault.
Calls for Peace and an End to Russian Aggression amid the continued hostilities, Zelensky reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to peace, emphasizing that real steps toward ending the war must involve forcing Russia to halt its attacks on civilian infrastructure. He stressed the need for international support in ensuring airspace security, including restrictions on missile strikes, long-range drone attacks, and aerial bombings.
He also highlighted the importance of securing maritime navigation, calling for concrete measures to guarantee the safety of Ukraine’s ports and shipping routes.”Ukraine has sought peace from the very first moment of this war,” Zelensky stated.
