The Rivers State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to public safety with the commissioning of two newly remodeled and fully equipped fire service stations in the state. These facilities, located in Rumuodomaya and Borokiri, have been upgraded as part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen disaster management and emergency response capabilities.
The commissioning of the Rumuodomaya Fire Service Station was led by Chief Barr. Hanny Woko, while former Minister of Transportation, Chief Abiye Sekibo, inaugurated the Borokiri Fire Service Station, situated in one of the most densely populated areas of Port Harcourt. Both fire stations have been outfitted with modern firefighting vehicles and enhanced infrastructure to ensure swift responses to fire outbreaks and other emergencies.
Speaking at the events, government representatives emphasized that these initiatives align with the administration’s service delivery agenda, which prioritizes the protection of lives and properties. The remodeled fire stations mark the second and third emergency response facilities upgraded under the current government, demonstrating a strong commitment to enhancing safety, disaster preparedness, and community welfare.
