Prominent Nigerian businessman and former senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, has strongly defended the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, against allegations made by Tigran Gambaryan, challenging the Binance executive to take a lie detector test to prove his claims.
In a statement on his official X handle, Murray-Bruce dismissed the accusations against Ribadu as baseless, emphasizing his lifelong knowledge of the former anti-corruption chief’s character.
“I have known Mallam Nuhu Ribadu my entire life, and I can say with absolute certainty that he is incapable of the allegations being leveled against him. I challenge Tigran Gambaryan to undergo a lie detector test if he genuinely believes the claims he has made,” Murray-Bruce wrote.
Expressing frustration over what he described as repeated attempts to tarnish Nigeria’s image with unfounded accusations, he insisted that Gambaryan should consider himself fortunate to have been allowed to leave.
“If Nuhu had his way, I am supremely confident he would have ensured that he remained behind bars for a hundred years,” he added.
Murray-Bruce further demanded that Gambaryan take the proposed polygraph test in a neutral country, excluding both the United States and Nigeria, and called for a public apology should he fail.
Murray-Bruce did not hold back in his defense of Ribadu, expressing unwavering confidence in his innocence while outright dismissing Gambaryan’s allegations. However, he did not provide specific evidence to support his claim that Gambaryan was lying.
“I swear on my life—Girma is lying, and I demand that Tigran Gambaryan submit to a lie detector test in a neutral country,” he declared.
Despite the strong wording, Murray-Bruce did not explain how he arrived at the conclusion that Gambaryan’s claims were false. Instead, he called for decisive action against what he described as reckless fabrications, arguing that such accusations should not go unchallenged.
