The Chairman of the Katsina State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Alhaji Yusuf Jargaba, has commended former President Muhammadu Buhari for his contributions to national security and economic stability. During a courtesy visit to Buhari’s residence in Daura, Katsina State, Jargaba acknowledged the former leader’s efforts in tackling terrorism, banditry, and other security threats.
Responding to the remarks, Buhari stated that his administration made significant progress in addressing the country’s security and economic challenges. He recalled that before assuming office in 2015, Nigeria was grappling with serious security concerns and economic difficulties. However, he insisted that his government successfully implemented strategies that mitigated these issues.
According to Buhari, only those in positions of power fully understand the complexities of governance, as leaders frequently encounter obstacles in policy implementation. Despite these challenges, he maintained that Nigeria had witnessed notable improvements under his leadership.
Under my administration, Nigeria witnessed significant improvements in security and economic stability compared to the situation in 2015. While challenges remain, I believe the country is on a path to continued progress,” Buhari asserted.
