Kaduna, Nigeria – In a sweeping effort to combat food insecurity, the Aliko Dangote Foundation has donated 35,000 bags of rice to residents across the 23 Local Government Areas in Kaduna State, marking a significant phase of its nationwide food relief campaign.

The donation, part of the Foundation’s National Food Intervention Project, is designed to reach over one million vulnerable Nigerians across all 774 local government areas. Each local government in Kaduna is set to receive 1,522 bags of 10kg rice.

Governor Uba Sani praised the gesture, describing it as a timely intervention that aligns with Kaduna State’s broader social investment policies. Represented by his Chief of Staff, Sani Liman Kila, during the official launch of the distribution in Kaduna, the governor reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to fighting hunger and poverty.

“Our administration has prioritized access to basic services, focusing heavily on health, education, and social protection,” the governor stated. “Initiatives like this not only complement our developmental agenda but also restore hope to many vulnerable households.”

Governor Sani highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance financial inclusion, support Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and foster community security. He also reiterated the government’s readiness to collaborate with non-governmental organizations focused on human development.

“We will continue to partner with people-centered foundations such as the Aliko Dangote Foundation to uplift the poor and underserved,” he affirmed.

Representing the Foundation at the event, Sadiq Ahmed emphasized the importance of solidarity during challenging economic times.
