Abuja, Nigeria — The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the death of 14-year-old Kehinde Alade, who was reportedly killed during a confrontation involving officers of the Oyo State Police Command and the Oyo State Traffic Management Authority (OYTMA).

In an official statement released by the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja, the IGP denounced the incident as both tragic and unacceptable. He confirmed that the officer suspected to be involved in the fatal shooting has been arrested and is currently in custody.

Egbetokun assured Nigerians that the investigation will be carried out with full transparency and that the findings will be disclosed to the public. “Justice will be served, and due process will be followed to ensure accountability,” the statement emphasized.
