The Nigerian Armed Forces have restated their unwavering determination to eliminate threats to national security and restore peace across the country. The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, delivered this assurance during a strategic visit to the military cantonment in Samaru, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on Thursday.
General Musa highlighted the military’s resolve to tackle insecurity head-on, emphasizing that all criminal elements disrupting the nation’s peace would be neutralized.
“The safety and well-being of Nigerians remain our priority. We are fully committed to dismantling the networks of those who jeopardize our nation’s security,” he said. The visit, according to the CDS, was aimed at evaluating operational capabilities and enhancing strategies to address security challenges, particularly in Southern Kaduna and nearby regions.
Addressing troops stationed in the area, General Musa commended their dedication and professionalism, reaffirming the military’s focus on their welfare and operational readiness.
“Your sacrifices are recognized and deeply appreciated. We are resolute in providing you with the resources and support required to excel in your duties,” he stated. Additionally, he urged the troops to maintain high ethical standards and uphold human rights as they carry out their responsibilities.
Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, commander of Operation Safe Haven and General Officer Commanding 3 Division, echoed these sentiments, encouraging the troops to sustain their efforts in safeguarding the region.
The Defence Chief, accompanied by senior officers from the Defence Headquarters, also visited the palace of the Chief of Kagoro as part of his tour. During the visit, General Musa reassured the traditional ruler of the military’s dedication to fostering unity, peace, and security in the region.
Senator Sunday Marshal, representing Kaduna South, praised the military’s proactive approach and pledged continued collaboration between the civilian population and security agencies to strengthen trust and cooperation.
