As part of his ongoing commitment to education and healthcare as key pillars of national development, former presidential candidate Peter Obi has donated ₦20 million to support educational initiatives in Kaduna State.
Obi, who traveled from Abuja to Kafanchan, visited Joseph D. Bagobiri Memorial College, where he also joined in commemorating the 5th anniversary of Bishop Julius Yakubu Kundi as the Bishop of Kafanchan.
Speaking on the visit, Obi expressed deep admiration for Bishop Kundi’s efforts in supporting children affected by the region’s ongoing crisis. He noted that about 80 percent of the children in the community have lost their parents, making education a critical tool in securing their future.
Recognizing the urgent need for intervention, Bishop Kundi has been at the forefront of constructing schools to provide quality education for these vulnerable children. Obi lauded the bishop’s dedication, describing it as essential in addressing the out-of-school children crisis, which remains a significant national challenge.
“In support of this noble cause, I have donated ₦20 million to help advance this initiative,” Obi stated, reaffirming his steadfast commitment to fostering learning, growth, and opportunity for all children. He emphasized that education remains a fundamental tool for national development, urging more stakeholders to contribute towards ensuring a brighter future for the next generation.
