In a gesture that highlights his commitment to community development, Peter Obi visited the Anglican Diocese of Nnewi yesterday, where he pledged ₦10 million to advance ongoing projects at the ADON College of Health Technology. His visit showcased not only his support for education but also his dedication to addressing societal challenges such as drug rehabilitation and special education.
At the ADON College of Health Technology, Obi interacted with students and commended the institution’s remarkable progress. The funds, he stated, would help further the college’s mission of providing quality education and infrastructure development.
The tour also brought Obi to the Diocesan Rehabilitation Centre, where over 40 individuals recovering from drug addiction are being empowered with skills to rebuild their lives. Deeply moved by the centre’s efforts, Obi pledged additional support and urged stronger action against the drug trade. “We must collectively support initiatives like this while addressing the root causes of drug abuse,” he said.
Concluding his visit, Obi spent time at the school for children with special needs, where he expressed admiration for the Diocese’s commitment to inclusivity. Praising Bishop Ndubisi Obi for his tireless dedication to human development, Obi assured that his support for transformative initiatives in education and social welfare would continue.
This visit underscores Peter Obi’s ongoing efforts to foster growth, development, and hope within communities, earning widespread commendation for his impactful contributions.
