In a strategic move to bolster Nigeria’s immigration framework, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sanctioned the extension of Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap’s tenure as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) until December 31, 2026.
With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Mrs. Nandap joined the Nigeria Immigration Service on October 9, 1989. Her leadership journey culminated in her appointment as Comptroller-General on March 1, 2024, initially set to conclude on August 31, 2025.
Throughout her tenure, the NIS has experienced remarkable progress in border security, modernization of immigration operations, and the reinforcement of national security measures. Her proactive approach has significantly enhanced the efficiency of the service, ensuring a more responsive and technologically advanced immigration system.
President Tinubu lauded her commitment to duty and urged her to sustain the momentum in advancing the Service’s strategic priorities, which align with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He reiterated his government’s unwavering support for the NIS in its mission to safeguard Nigeria’s borders and facilitate legal, secure, and regulated migration.
